THE British Television Technology Trust - MCR21

I worked with the British Television Technology Trust (BTTT) to create a video documenting the restoration of a historic BBC television broadcast van. The goal was to explain the van’s original purpose, how it operated, and why it holds an important place in broadcast history—all in an accessible and engaging way.

Outside Broadcasting

For the video, I created and designed all the visual assets from the ground up to ensure a consistent and engaging style throughout. This included building a fully modelled and animated 3D representation of a period-correct broadcast television camera, allowing viewers to get a clear, detailed look at the equipment used during the MCR21’s operational years. I also produced an illustrated redesign of the MCR21 broadcast van.

To tie it all together, I even provided the voiceover narration, adopting a friendly and straightforward tone aimed at keeping the video accessible and enjoyable for a broad audience, including younger viewers and those new to the subject matter.

Poster

In addition to the video, I designed an A1 sized educational poster in the same visual style. Tailored especially for younger audiences, the poster presents key information from the video in a simplified, eye-catching format, and is intended for use in classrooms and other educational environments to help spark interest in broadcast history and vintage technology.
